Colors in the palette: –. The preview uses the screen's real RGB565 colors.
Put it on your CLUE
- Connect in code.circuitpython.org (see Setup, Part C) and open
code.py. - Easiest (Chrome/Edge): click Save to CLUE, choose the CIRCUITPY drive and allow editing. The app writes code.py (and the pictures) for you. Careful: it replaces your current code.py!
- Code only: select everything in code.py, paste your code, click Save + Run. Done!
- Picture file: click Download .zip and unzip it. Copy
picture.bmp(or the wholeframesfolder for a GIF) andcode.pyonto the CIRCUITPY drive in your file explorer.
💡 Why so few colors?
Each color costs memory, and the CLUE has only about 70 KB free for your program. Big photos need dithering to look good, but dithered pictures are harder to squeeze. The meters tell you when it fits. The Screen Lab explains the math.
